Lousy photoshop of a stock image to explain. I realized tonight it’s been a long time since I did any serious photoshop.

Then swap an f series superduty front clip on it, for ultimate trollage.

I occasionally had that thought about the hearse. Wasn’t sure whether it would look better following the line of the landau top or the fender crease

Speaking of good bad ideas ...

Landu top so you could incorporate or hide some sort of bracing to keep it rigid around the C-pillar. Like the sail panel on first-gen Ridgelines and Avalanches.

i thought it would be easy until i realized the front end on t he F150 is like 3 times as tall as the Crown Vic.

full open top cruiser ?........

That's so bad it's kinda cool.

More of a Ute - a quasi-modern Ranchero if you will

Perfect for straight-16 engine swaps!

I’m going to file that one to the bad bad ideas category

That’s not funny. That’s grounds for prosecution at The Hague.

Looks like it should have a little tuft of oddly curled hair as a good ornament...

That actually looks pretty good! Nice.

There is actually a Crown Victoria convertible somewhere in the southeast.
![]() 08/08/2018 at 23:39 |

Seems like it would need a lot of rigidity help, especially because the Crown Vic has structure behind the rear seats, which you’d need to cut out to open up the bed.

I thought Ford already built that

I’ve spent a lot of time behind the wheel of a ranger. From a driving perspective, I’d much rather be in a crown vic.

My photoshop skills are lacking but a roll
hoop at the b-pillar with a couple tubes back to above the wheels would stiffen it right up (and moving the gas tank to where the rear seat footwells used to be) and allow for bed space. Being body on frame it’s already at an advantage over a lot of other stuff I’ve seen hacked into a ute.
![]() 08/09/2018 at 07:38 |

This is a ute, who needs back seats when you can have all the utility?
![]() 08/09/2018 at 15:55 |

I would honestly question the safety of a Crown Vic ute.
![]() 08/09/2018 at 15:59 |

By modern standards a crown vic isn’t very safe to begin with, so the point is moot. With the right bracing to keep it from wanting to be a taco, it would be fine.

Regardless, Crown Vics are pretty sturdy cars to begin with. They’re just bad at energy absorption.
![]() 08/09/2018 at 16:09 |

Yeah, like I mentioned in another comment on here - being body on frame gives it a pretty significant head start over a lot of other cars I’ve seen hacked into utes.

That's a good point. I have driven a Ranger a couple of times. It's ok, but not too special.

I’d be very pleased, on the other hand, with the driving dynamics of a crown vic (I’ve had a couple) paired with the utility of a light truck / ute!

Thousands of them with worthless taxi medallions...
![]() 08/11/2018 at 11:14 |

That’s ugly. Someone must have died in that car.
![]() 08/11/2018 at 18:56 |

Nope, injured but survived to return to duty. Had it been wrapped on the driver side, it would have probably been very fatal.

Wow, wow, wow.
